Bored with Poo-Pooing Electric Cars, Conservatives Hope to Travel Back to 1950s to Make Fun of the Computer Too

Eons News

American conservative pundits and social media users are known for doing anything they can to stir up hate for today’s innovations, like electric vehicles and renewable energy.

EVs are a common target for mindlessly-repeated and kindergartenishly-shortsighted tropes of the form ”This thing that someone just recently starting trying to do isn’t perfect, so the whole thing is stupid”. Like “EVs today have shorter range than their gas counterparts, therefore EVs are stupid and the people who buy them are loathsome ideological fools”.

But conservatives are putting their full support behind the development of one new technology:  time machines.  Unfortunately, it’s just because they want to travel back in time to make fun of humanity’s past innovations:

- Back to the early 1990s to laugh at the idea of the internet because you have to wait for a dial-up connection.

- Back to the 1950s to mock the idea of the computer because it’s the size of a room.

- Back to 1928 to swear they’ll never take penicillin because it’s made from a type of mold, and that’s gross and unnatural for humans to eat.

- Back to 1903 to jeer at the Wright Brothers’ silly “airplane” because it was slow and only carried one person.

- Back to 1445 to scoff at the printing press because it was tedious to set up and sometimes the lines were crooked.
